            Summary: XLikes is a privacy-first extension. All your data stays on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or share any of your information.
        

1. Introduction

XLikes ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that allows you to archive your X.com (formerly Twitter) likes locally on your device. This Privacy Policy explains how the Extension handles your data.

2. Data Collection

The Extension collects and stores the following data locally on your device only:

Tweet Content: The text, author information, and metadata of tweets you have liked on X.com
Tweet URLs: Direct links to the original tweets
Timestamps: When tweets were created and when they were archived

This data is retrieved from X.com using your existing browser session and is never transmitted to any external servers.

3. Data Storage

All data is stored locally using your browser's built-in storage (chrome.storage.local). The data:

Never leaves your device
Is stored in a SQLite database format
Can be exported by you at any time as a .db file
Is automatically deleted if you uninstall the Extension

4. Cookie Usage

The Extension accesses your existing X.com session cookies to authenticate API requests. These cookies are:

Read directly from your browser (not stored by the Extension)
Used only to fetch your likes from X.com
Never transmitted to any third party
Never logged or persisted by the Extension

5. Third-Party Services

The Extension communicates only with X.com's servers to fetch your likes data. It does not:

Use any analytics services
Include any tracking pixels or scripts
Connect to any servers other than X.com
Share data with any third parties

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your data to any third parties. Since all data remains on your device, we have no access to it.

7. Data Security

Your data is protected by your browser's built-in security mechanisms. The Extension:

Runs in an isolated extension context
Does not inject scripts into web pages
Requires minimal permissions necessary for functionality

8. Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

Access: View all stored data through the Extension popup
Export: Download your data as a SQLite database file
Delete: Uninstall the Extension to remove all stored data

9. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
